Hasselblad XPan 30mm, 45mm and 90mm Lens Shade
This is a 3D printed lens shade for the Hasselblad XPan 30mm, 45mm and 90mm lenses. The design is carefully modeled after the original in order to maintain original fit and shading. It attaches directly via the original bayonet and works with the original lens caps, although for convenience each comes with a secondary front shade cap. An alignment indicator allows easy installation.
Regarding shade materials, we wanted to opt for something thin, light, and most of all impact resistant. When you’re out there with your irreplaceable camera, the last thing in the world you want is to bump or drop it and damage it. To that end the lens shades are optimized to flex and ultimately fail, to absorb energy in the event of an impact, to protect the camera as best they can without risking the bayonet on the lens.
This product came from a personal project of ours to replace an existing lens shade, but we thought other people might also benefit, as the number of original lens shades out there isn’t increasing but the prices certainly are. We also undertook a project to replace the Xpan Body & Rear Lens Caps.
